Reports of the falls freezing over have fascinated people all over the world. Newspapers and TV stations have been a buzz with photo and videos of this must see event.

Back in January, well-known Canadian ice climber Will Gadd conquered the northernmost part of Horseshoe Falls, beginning at the frozen river base of Niagara River and climbing to Terrapin Point on Goat Island. Clawing his way to the top all the while the mighty Niagara rushed by at speeds of nearly 70 mph, with an estimated 150,000 tons of water pouring over the crest every minute right next to him.

Every night guest have the chance to experience Niagara Falls in a new way with the Falls illumination. A wonderful light show that highlight the falls beautiful ice formations. So make plans to spend the whole day.

There's still plenty of time to witness this sight. The National Weather Service says extremely cold arctic air is on the horizon and this will allow for the expansion of the ice coverage in days to come. Why not plan a visit today.
