Beautiful History of Niagara Falls

I had the privilege to hear Marge Gillies from the Niagara Falls Historic Preservation Society speak yesterday. Her passion and love for everything Niagara Falls filled the room.
She told us about the powerful people and power places
that should never be forgotten in Niagara Falls.
Did you know that  Nikola Tesla &  George Westinghouse built the
first hydro-electric power plant in 1895 right here in Niagara Falls?
This is just one of the many interesting people and places you will find here.
Visitors and residents can hear all these facts on
a walking tour that takes you along Buffalo Avenue.
You will view the homes and meeting places for some
of America's greatest thinkers, inventors, and industrialists.
Niagara Falls Legacy Tour departs Wednesdays at 5:30pm &
Saturdays at 1:30pm. After the tour stop in the Red Coach Inn to take in our rich history and enjoy a relaxing meal. Chef Mark offers daily features that are both outstanding and seasonal.

Want an Insider's tip?

8 Things you should pack when coming to Niagara Falls.
1. A backpack (keeps your hands free to take a ton of pictures)
2. Sunscreen (it may be fall but you will still need it)
3. Comfortable walking shoes (with so much to see
and do you'll be glad you did)
4. A small towel (because you may get wet)
5. A small comb or brush (because some attractions can
give new meaning to a "bad hair day")
6. A love of history (like the Red Coach Inn, the area is filled
with great buildings with great stories)
7. A desire to reconnect (after all this is the honeymoon capitol)
8. An appetite (with our fine dining restaurant, there awaits
something delicious for everyone)

The Patio is still open and is heated,
so you can enjoy both indoor and outdoor seating
at the Red Coach Inn!
