"The heart of a father is the masterpiece of nature."
--Antoine Francois Prevost
Did you know that the celebration for Father's Day was inaugurated in the early 20th century to complement Mother's Day? It was inspired by Anna Jarvis, who held a celebration to honor her dead mother, which later on became a crusade to establish Mother's Day. The first observance of Father's Day was held on July 1908 by Grace Golden Clayton who wanted to honor her father and all the other fathers who passed away during the Monongah Mining Disaster. It wasn't celebrated again until 1910 in Spokane, Washington--and from then on, there have been several attempts at raising awareness and establishing Father's Day at a national level.
Father's Day is now officially recognized in many countries. In the United States, it is celebrated every third Sunday of June--and June 21 is Father's Day 2015. What better way to celebrate than to bring your dad to see the world class Niagara Falls and treat him to a scrumptious meal!
